Thanks to the community for BDOG support!

Thank you to 75 local donors who donated over $7,100, plus pledges for more, during the Big Day of Giving, which culminated on May 1!

Your support fuels our work as trail ambassadors, providing safe cycling and walking advice, directions, mechanical assistance, and CPR and first aid as required – bringing a much stronger sense of safety and security to the American River trail system.

We’re deeply grateful for friends like you who believe in our mission. Your gift helps ensure that the American River and its trails continue to thrive for generations to come. With heartfelt thanks, the 115 members of the American River Bike Patrol!

Free Bike Helmets

Free bicycle helmets are given to children who need them at "First Saturday" patrol gatherings held each month.

Go to the Calendar below and click on the next First Saturday to see where and when it will occur.

Or, email americanriverbikepatrol@gmail.com to learn of the next event when helmet fitting will occur.

The helmets are provided as a public service by UC Davis Health, Injury and Violence Prevention and the American River Bike Patrol.

Our Mission

Our Mission: To assist users of recreational trails with emergency medical & bike repair assistance, directions, information about the trails & their Rules & Regulations and to support public lands agencies and their respective Rangers and Deputies with maintaining and improving public safety.

Established in 2020, the American River Bike Patrol (ARBP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization. The patrol is a unit of the Mother Lode Region in the Far West Division of the National Ski Patrol (NSP), serving within the NSP’s National Bike Patrol.

Its 110 Bike Patrollers serve as trail ambassadors, helping trail users (walkers, runners, cyclists,

mountain bikers, e-boarders, skaters, equestrians, etc.) with trail etiquette, directions, first aid,

bike repairs and general assistance. As safety patrollers, they report trail maintenance and

security concerns.
